Now with twice the bikes and more epic slo-mo!
The bikes featured are Triumph Speed Triples which have been massaged slightly for the task at hand. Bringing up the rear is a well stickered Ford Mustang Cobra, pushing out 550hp, pretending to play po-po, five-0.
If you ever wondered what it would be like to put your life on the line, year after year, for a sport that you loved, I’ve got the movie for you.
Announced earlier this year, TT: Closer To The Edge (the non-3D version of the theatrical release) is just now making it to DVD.
It chronicles the historic Isle Of Man TT and its competitors during the annual event in 2010. Guy Martin, a charismatic, eccentric, rebellious road racer from East Midlands in the UK takes a prominent role in the documentary epic, having placed on the podium multiple times in years gone past but never picking up a win.
Before I get too deep into it and ruin the experience for you, just watch the trailer and pick up a copy of the movie however you can. Anyone who can identify with putting their passion above all else will enjoy it, motorcyclist or not.
There are a many ways we show appreciation for the hunks of metal that provide us so much joy. Depth of Speed, a series by Josh Clason, delves into different aspects of our obsessive hobby from many viewpoints. I’ll be damned if this isn’t one of the most gorgeous ways of explaining our indescribable love of cars to non-believers.
Above is the first episode, A Pinch of Salt, exploring what makes Bonneville so special to all the people who make the yearly pilgrimage to the salt flats. Season two will be starting this winter. In the meantime, check out all the season one episodes at Depth of Speed.
